For those who know me, this collection was an anticipated development. It has taken me approximately 60 years to discover, experience, and comprehend peace—its essence and the journey to attain it. These nine songs essentially document my journey of the last six years.
The concept for Crayon Sun emerged unexpectedly. A friend of mine, who creates pastel paintings en plein air, drew something in a park here in Greenville, SC. This piece evoked within me a sensation reminiscent of the emotions I experience when viewing Monet’s work.
My reflections centered on the gratitude I feel for being in this state and possessing this perception. I am profoundly thankful to everyone in my life who played a role in my reaching this point.
Whether the experiences were good or bad, happy or sad, each one was essential. I have no regrets. Therefore, every individual who contributed to me achieving this state is part of my Crayon Sun.
