Hey all, it;’s been a crazy, crazy world for the last few months. Hope everyone got thru it safe, healthy, happy and thankful. Looking forward to having someone other than me pour my glass of wine!
We are headed back to Ear Suite Studios on June 13th with two new tunes and a bunch of tweaking, mixing and mastering scheduled also. Please check back periodically as to when the release date will be. Sometimes I think that being stuck in the home studio for 3 months was a blessing in disguise. Hopefully you all will too!
This is the sound of beautiful hurt, dancing in the dark under a yellow moon of hope. Haunting, ethereal chants and rhythmic claps set the tone. Sombre. Moody blue. Then it’s on with the show. “When Crazy Makes Sense” (good title, by the way) is an album in the true sense of the word. It unfolds, slow, loose and lithe. It flows and it gels. It reaches out, touches you and draws you in. Sturdy songs of sensitive languor laid out on a light and a lilting carpet of jazzy roll and velvet soul. Punctuated with the occasional short, sharp stab of pain or angry dart of wit.
Masterman with a masterplan, Sanfilippo has been here before. He’s learned to embrace the fear, cherish the moment, walk those coals and feel the hurt (but never let it control you). Live the life, love the love. The music is keyboard driven and keyboard drenched. His voice emotes within a framework of Princely snap, pop and poise. There’s one puckish detour, a sultry Summer swelter of Island living and Caribbean times. Partay. The beach is back. But in truth this ain’t no jive ass Calypso pep fest. No, the mist soon returns, a fog of fancy floating on the water. A sensual smolder of finger poppin’ tunes to pique your heart and salve your soul.
